Why is racism funny.....?

I don't get why...racism is supposed to be a bad thing, right? Like, take for instance, the Fresh prince of Bel-air.I absolutely LOVE that show, but it always refers to stereotypes (likewise with other shows; George Lopez, Family Guy, etc.) My close group of friends even do that (i have a lot of mixed minority friends). Any one care to enlighten me?
